Have you ever cheated in the exam hall? Have you ever stolen a piece of meat in mama’s pot? Have you ever taken what wasn’t yours without permission? Have you ever failed to keep your promise? Have you ever told a lie just to escape some sort of punishment or embarrassment?
If you answered “Yes” to any of the above question, then you are a SINNER. Perhaps nobody is holy. Who is a sinner? You or me? Nobody wants to accept faults. Everybody wants to act like they are clean. But the problem about acting clean is that it makes you lose focus. While you are busy claiming you are clean, you’ll tend to notice others who are unclean. Hey Mr or Mrs clean, I hate to break it to you but the truth is “nobody is clean” – Not even YOU! In fact , not even me. One of the biggest sins you can ever commit is to label yourself holy and label others dirty!
Well, I ain’t a preacher but I’m a prolific writer and speaker – Probably , the most prolific you’ll ever know! I want to be in the proximity of the topic. Therefore, I’m a prolific sinner too! I sin everyday. Do you? Yes? Then you must be really prolific (You are a prolific sinner too!). Here is what you should know about committing sins – You commit a sin when you do something wrong intentionally! The biggest challenge we have in our society today is that we think that committing sins only have to do with our morals – which is majorly correct! We believe that if we handle the morals of our kids, or ourselves, then we will have a peaceful environment – I totally agree. But the problem is – Our moral values are shrinking everyday. Last week , I saw a teen yelling back at his mum – Call him a young sinner. I wasn’t surprised. My mobile dictionary tells me the meaning of moral is : “Of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior, especially for teaching right behaviour”. The problem with teaching the right behavior is that it has been narrowed down to only respect! People only teach their kids to study hard and show respect and conform to the societal norms. When their kids breach this , they punish their kids!
People rarely teach their kids the importance of having hardwork, persistence, humility ,creativity, and being a team player! Why can’t they teach their kids these morals? No offence, but it’s because they lack these morals. Sins are not only limited to when you steal from people or cheat people. You commit a gigantic sin when you cheat on yourself. You’re an ugly sinner when you give up. You’re a pathetic sinner when you conform to “No”. You are a grievous sinner when you fail to find your purpose. You are a poor sinner when you fail to seek knowledge. You are a terrific sinner when you fail to give or add value to the universe before you die!
Regardless of the kind of sinner you are, you just have to repent and turn a new leaf before your sins start hunting you OR before you start getting punished! Maybe you are already facing the punishment. Who knows? Maybe it’s the punishment of being lazy , or being less creative, whichever one it is , it’s time to shrug it off and push to the limits! Admit you’re not a clean whistle and go clean yourself up. Dear SINNER, don’t you think it’s time to evolve??
