First of all, who is an entrepreneur? This is what my dictionary revealed to me ;
“A person who organizes and operates a business venture and assumes much of the associated risk“.
Another source defined entrepreneurship as –
“A person who strives for success and takes on risk by starting his own venture, service e.t.c”.
In my opinion, an entrepreneur is a person who solves problems and makes money while doing that.
Being an entrepreneur is pretty cool but sometimes you get entangled in challenges, confusion or doubts.
Entrepreneurship isn’t for sissies or the weak willed.
An entrepreneur is someone who is willing to get his face punched with defeat and still keep fighting.
By the way, an entrepreneur isn’t meant to survive. An entrepreneur is meant to thrive.
If you’re struggling in business, it’s either because you don’t have the right information OR you’re taking mediocre actions.
In today’s world, people like to label themselves “entrepreneurs” but are afraid of defeat or disappointments.
Now, what could be the most powerful phrase of an entrepreneur when things don’t seem to work out?
This is it – “I’ll figure things out“. This phrase might sound weak to you but it’s very powerful.
This phrase denotes commitment and a sense of responsibility. That phrase does nothing but gives you a sense of possibilities.
Every single day, I’m trying to figure out ways to take my craft to the next level but sometimes I hit road blocks.
When I do, I admit that I get frustrated but I never complain. I’m always looking for a way out.
I remember being rejected by a client and I got home really pissed and frustrated.
After a couple of minutes (cos I move on really fast) , I simply whispered to myself – “I’ll figure this out!” . Believe me, I did.
Ever since, I’ve found ways to improve on my craft. I’m not there yet but trust me, I’ll figure it out.
The most dangerous phase that can come out of your mouth (To a customer or yourself) is this – “I have no idea“.
Even when you truly have no idea, it’s your duty to go every length possible and ethical to find a solution.
Entrepreneurship is about solving problems, period.
When you can’t seem to figure out a way, make a way by simply saying – “I’ll figure it out”.
You can’t know everything, no one does BUT you can commit to finding solutions to a problem.
Thus, when next you get perplexed ,frustrated, and unable to figure out a way, don’t back down.
Simply commit by saying this to yourself ; “No matter what, I’ll figure this out“.
Believe me, when you fully commit, magic begins to happen!
As a matter of fact, what’s the benefit of being an entrepreneur when you cannot figure things out or make things happen?
– Make It Happen.
