According to a source ; “Over 70% of girls age 15 to 17 avoid normal daily activities, such as attending school, when they feel bad about their looks”.
Another fact states that ; “About 20% of teens will experience depression before they reach adulthood“.
Just in case you don’t know, Self-esteem is simply the way you perceive yourself or how you view yourself.
Poor Energy Signals Vs Healthy Energy Signals.
In my opinion, I believe one’s success is relatively tied to one’s self-esteem. If you have a poor self-esteem, you’re very likely to give poor energy signals to the outside world.
Thus, when you release poor energy signals to the world, you’ll also receive poor/low energy signals.
I’m I sounding too esoteric? Ok. Examples of healthy vibration ; Love, compassion, empathy, excitement, joy, ecstasy etc
Examples of low vibration ; Sadness, hate, envy, anger, remorse or feeling of regret etc.
Thus, when you have a broken self-esteem, you’re bound to carry along with you most of the low energy vibrations you can think of most of the time.
Another report says ; 75% of girls with low Self-esteem are reported to be engaging in negative activities like cutting, bullying, smoking, drinking, or disordered eating. This compares to 25% of girls with high self-esteem.
3 Quick Tips On Keeping Your Self-esteem In Healthy Shape
1. Surround Yourself With/Engage With People Who Have A Healthy Self-esteem :
They treat others right because that’s how they want to be treated. They have a good heart (Very kind). Lastly, they’re almost always positive plus they have zero tolerance for negativity.
This is the kind of people you want to be around. If you hang around this people long enough, they’ll brainwash you to believe in yourself once again.
2. Challenge Yourself :
Yes. One of the major reasons why you suffer from poor self-esteem is the fact that you repeat over and over again the same cycle.
It’s time to tweak things a little bit. It’s time to challenge yourself. If you don’t challenge yourself, how can you possibly know what you’re capable of?
Confidence comes from doing. Certainty comes from doing something that you never thought you could do.
For example, if you are the type that constantly rise up late (Because you feel you suck), challenge yourself to rise up early and work out.
If you don’t like to read, challenge yourself to pick up a book today and read – Make sure you complete reading the book.
This is how you build a weak self-esteem into a strong one. Challenge yourself to do things you haven’t done before or things you think you cannot do.
At this junction, you don’t have to care if you’re going to fail or not. Push yourself!
3. Help People :
Yes. Just try it right now. Help someone today. Try it now and see for yourself.
It doesn’t matter if you’re helping with an assignment or solution to a problem. Help people. Spread love. Spread kindness.
Spread possibilities and most importantly, provide a solution to someone’s pain today. It doesn’t matter how small – Help.
Do that and watch your self-esteem soar. Offer to help not to harm. Broken people harm others to feel good. You’re better than that. Spread hope. Spread love.
Just because everyone is doing it doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. Just because everyone around you is negative doesn’t mean you should.
Be the bigger player. Spread love and focus on getting your self-esteem in healthy shape.
Exude positive vibes. Find like minded people like you. Challenge yourself and most importantly, help others.
Have a great week!
