“The man who says he can and the man who says he can’t are both usually right” – Confucius.
You and I have been lied to but mostly we lie to ourselves. The average youth looks at the screen of his phone over 70 times a day.
That is ; Over 70 times a day, the average youth is consciously/subconsciously consuming lies and tabloid misinformation.
Over 70 times a day, you’re being distracted from your goals and ambitions. No wonder quitting has become a normal creed.
We are what we consume and sooner or later, when we consume enough lies or misinformation, we are prone to act with the wrong data.
This leads us to acting very confused and living a pathetic life with pathetic results. Being lied to by the people we love and trust freaking hurts.
What happens when you discover that you have been lying to yourself all these while?
What happens when you finally realize you’ve been operating with the wrong information for years?
From personal experience, that feeling is even more painful.
Just incase you feel you ain’t yet enough to put yourself out there, you’re right – Plus it could just be some little lies you tell yourself.
If you feel you should and are capable of putting yourself out there, you are right. Plus, it could also be some of those little lies you tell yourself.
From the above illustrations, which of the above lies would you rather tell yourself?
Choose your reality!
Tony Robbins once said something in the lines of ; “Nothing really has any meaning except the meaning we give to it”.
Thus, if at all you want to lie to yourself, lie to yourself about being capable.
For if you repeat those lies long enough, it’s going to become your reality.
Those who constantly tell themselves negative things like being unworthy end up believing it as their reality.
Why not switch the story to something positive? Why not switch the story to your advantage?
Everyday, I lie to myself that I can create whatever I want to create regardless of my mood or feelings.
I repeated those lies UNTIL it finally became my reality.
I’m lying to myself about something else already and I’m going to keep doing that long enough till it becomes my reality.
Your life is a reflection of the lies you’ve been telling yourself long enough till it became your reality.
What lies have you been telling yourself up till this moment? Keep on telling yourself those same lies or change the narrative – Your choice.
Remember ; The man who says he can and the man who says he can’t are both usually right – Confucius
