I know it’s been the “Merry Christmas” theme all day.
It’s a beautiful day actually.
One of those very few days where we let go of our worries.
One of those very few days where we make time for those we love.
Families come together.
Almost everyone is with an upbeat vibe.
Isn’t it cool?
What happens when the festive period is over?
Everyone goes back to the same old vomit.
We no longer care.
We fixate on the rat race.
We let go of family and hang on to being “busy”.
We wait on “perceived authority” to announce vacation or public holiday before we can make time for those we love.
Pathetic, right?
This piece isn’t to condemn societal vice.
That being said, you and I know this is true.
When things get ugly, your loved ones will likely be the first line of defense…
NOT your Instagram followers,
NOT your Facebook friends.
NOT even the job you dedicate most of your life to will rescue you.
You’d be replaced within a blink.
Those who truly love you and care about you will be there for you no matter what.
Now, the question is ;
Do you even make time for them?
Just as you make time for work WITHOUT excuses, make time for family too….
Here’s a line from a movie I recently watched that I think might be of help ;
“Family first”.
What do you think?
